Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village (가고파 꼬부랑길 벽화마을)

Gyeongsangnamdo
15-8, Seonghoseo 7-gil, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do

Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village was created in December 2013 along the alleys connecting around 30 households in the Chusan-dong and Seongho-dong area. The tour begins at the point where Seonghoseo 10-gil and Seonghoseo 2-gil meet, where a mural village guide map is installed. It is easy to find thanks to the large murals depicting artists connected to Changwon—such as sculptor Moon Shin and poet Cheon Sang-byeong—painted in the style of Mount Rushmore’s iconic carved faces.

The 450-meter alley and stairway are filled with a variety of paintings. At the end of a short rainbow-colored stone stairway stands the Centennial Well, which has been used by local residents since 1910. Next to the well, the water-carrier mural overlooking Masan Port is the village’s most popular photo spot.

In addition, the narrow alleys are decorated with murals reminiscent of Mondrian’s works, a fish mural symbolizing the “gateway to success,” and wall paintings that make a simple wall look like the entrance to a cozy café. Beautiful artwork fills every corner of the village, making the walk enjoyable from start to finish.

When visiting Gagopa Kkoburang-gil Mural Village, please remember that this is a residential area where people live. Visitors should avoid any behavior that may invade the privacy of the local residents.
