Military in the area can also keep watch over the north from this location. Visitors can see the DMZ fences and the Guard Point as well as exhibition hall where war items can be found.

Kalbongsan Recreational Forest (칼봉산자연휴양림)

Gyeonggido 454, Gyeongbanan-ro, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Kalbongsan Recreational Forest is located between Gyeongbangyegok Valley, famous for Surakpokpo Falls, and Yongchugyegok Valley, famous for Yongchupokpo Falls. The forest is a popular summer vacation spot for families due to the pure natural environment. Kalbongsan Mountain also provides many trekking paths.

Jungwonpokpo Falls (중원폭포)

Gyeonggido Yeonsu-ri, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Jungwonpokpo Falls is located at the eastern edge of Jungwon Valley in Jungwonsan Mountain, Yangpyeong. A 15-minute walk from the parking lot through the valley pathway will take the visitors to the three-tiered waterfalls. Rather a small waterfall less than 10 meters high, Jungwonpokpo Falls is surrounded by cliffs with fantastic rock formations that look like folding screens. The plunge pool is also impressive with its depth and x_width. Located nearby is another waterfall known as Chimapokpo Falls.

Jungmisan Recreational Forest (중미산자연휴양림)

Gyeonggido 1152, Jungmisan-ro, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Jungmisan Recreational Forest unfolds at the end of a lovely drive along the famous Nongdachigogae Road, the highest ridge road in the vicinity of Seoul. The forest boasts a striking landscape of thick groves of trees and a view overlooking the Namhangang River. During some mornings, the forest’s log cabins are veiled by a thick fog, further adding to the beautiful natural ambience. Rising 834 meters above sea level, Jungmisan Mountain is a popular sunrise destination frequented by throngs of hikers every year. Thick forests of pine trees create a rooftop of branches from spring to fall. Being surrounded by the tall mountains of Baegunsan, Yumyeongsan, and Yongmunsan, Jungmisan Mountain feels like it is in the inner mountainous region of Gangwon-do, although it is close to Seoul. The forest has log cabins that can accommodate groups of 4 to 10 people as well as campsites that complement the surrounding natural environment. Visitors can enjoy a comfortable walk through the trees on a trail that winds through the heart of the forest.

Jungmisan Observatory (중미산 천문대)

Gyeonggido 1268, Jungmisan-ro, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Situated only 40 minute's drive from Seoul, the Jungmisan Observatory is nestled within Jungmisan Recreational Forest 437 kilometers above sea level. In addition to the beautiful natural scenery, the main draw of this particular location is that there is no other place near Seoul as this forest where one can get an excellent view of the night sky. From Seoul, one might expect to see about three stars on a good day, while at the Jungmisan Observatory one can typically observe over 3,000 stars. Jungmisan Observatory provides an experiential learning center that offers astronomy programs for children, including preschoolers. Children can gain a deeper understanding of space and basic astronomy through various programs, such as stargazing. In addition to the astronomy programs, the observatory also offers forest bathing, forest ecology, and insect learning programs along with the nearby recreational forest.

Jomurakgyegok Valley (조무락계곡)

Gyeonggido Jomurakgol-gil, Buk-myeon Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Jomurakgyegok Valley's river flows between Seongnyongsan Mountain, Jeongmok-ri, Buk-myeon and Jungbong Peak of Hwaaksan Mountain in Buk-myeon. The water runoff from the two mountains flows into Jomurakgol Valley. Jomurakgyegok Valley and Domacheon Stream (from Sampal-gyo Bridge and Kookmangbong Peak) flow into Gapyeongcheon Stream. The valley's name means to watch birds sing and dance, and calls to mind the phrase 'Jomuljomul,' which means the shape of touchingsomething with small hands.

Jojongcheongyegok Valley (조종천계곡)

Gyeonggido Sinha-ri, Jojong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Jojongcheongyegok Valley, known as the second-largest stream in Gapyeong, is a prime destination for water activities due to its wide expanse and plentiful water flow. The clarity and cleanliness of the water make it an excellent spot for fishing and gathering aquatic life like freshwater snails. Along the Jojongcheon Stream, within the mountain lodge tourist area, there are various accommodation options available. Jeongok Port (전곡항)

Gyeonggido 5 Jeongokhang-ro, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do Jeongok Port is a port facing Jebudo Island and Nueseom Island. It was selected as Korea's first leisure fishing port.It was developed after being chosen as an experimental zone. It was created as a multi-functional theme fishing port, where fishing, yacht experiences, a marina, and an annual fishing competition are available. There are many restaurants nearby serving fresh seafood and shellfish from the West Sea. The West Sea and Jebudo Marine Cable Car is also located nearby, making it a tourist destination that offers not only water activities but also car drives and walks.

Jebudo Island (제부도)

Gyeonggido 421-12 Haean-gil, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do Jebudo Island is a small island located off the shores of Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong. It is famous for its “sea parting,” where the sea parts into two sides along a footpath twice daily at low tide, allowing visitors to walk to the island from the mainland. Jebudo Island is located close to Seoul and is quite accessible, so it is a great place for a day trip. Notable tourist sites include the Jebudo Water Walk, which offers a great view of Jebudo Island’s wide tidal flat and the sunset, and the Jebudo Beach, a beach perfect for some water sports and summer trips.

Jebudo Coastal Trail (Jebikkori-gil) (제부도 해안산책로(제비꼬리길))

Gyeonggido Jebu-ri, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do Jebudo is a small island in the sea situated right off of Hwaseong-si and, here, the water parts twice a day like the "Miracle of Moses" to open up a path to access the island. It is a quaint and quiet island with a total area of 1.0 square kilometers and a coastline stretching for some 12 kilometers. It is not far from the Metropolitan Area and is easily accessible by various means of transportation, which makes it a perfect day trip destination for families. Jebudo Coastal Trail is about 1-kilometer-long and 1.5-meter-wide that continues from a quay and winds around Tapjaesan before reaching the beach (also known as Malmeori). As you walk along the trail, you will find picturesque coastlines, rocks of unique, strange shapes, and vast, beautiful grasslands. The trail is a nature-friendly structure constructed after collecting opinions from locals and environmental groups so that it does not destroy the natural landscape. It is a great place for families and lovers to take a light stroll whether at high tide or when it turns into a tidal flat at low tide. Jebudo is home to many different kinds of tasty clams, which is why you will find that most nearby restaurants serve grilled clams as well as noodle soup featuring Manila clams. The sunset viewed from Jebudo is widely known as one of the most beautiful on the entire west coast.

Jebudo Beach (제부도해수욕장)

Gyeonggido 260, Haean-gil, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do Jebudo Beach lies on Jebudo, a small island in the West Sea, known for its "Miracle of Moses" as the sea opens up twice a day. Jebudo Island Beach is 1.8 kilometers long and features a cliff made up of unique-shaped rocks on the right side to create quite a spectacle. Maebawi Rock is found to its left, and the beach has suitable water temperatures as well as a gradual slope. The fascinating cliff and Maebawi on the beachside create a picturesque scene together. There are no sections of the shore where the depth of the water increases suddenly, so even children and the elderly can enjoy playing and relaxing in the water in a relatively safe manner.

Jatyanggi Purunsup Resort (잣향기푸른숲)

Gyeonggido 289-146, Chungnyeong-ro, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Located in Gyeonggi-do and home to the nation's largest nut pine forest, composed of trees over 80 years old, Jatyanggi Purunsup Resort is a special recreational forest complex where phytoncide emitted from the pine tree forest creates a healing experience. The forest is located between 450 and 600 meters above sea level on Chungnyeongsan and Seorisan Mountains.

JARA ISLAND (자라섬)

Gyeonggido 60 Jaraseom-ro, Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do JARA ISLAND takes its name from its view of a hill resembling a terrapin, "jara" in Korean. Comprising four smaller isles—Dongdo, Seodo, Jungdo, and Namdo—the island is being developed with leisure and ecological park amenities. Jungdo features a sprawling cultural park, centered around a lush grassy plaza that spans over 100 meters in diameter. Meanwhile, the west end of the Jarasum Campground is home to Ewhawon, a park designed to immerse visitors in natural ecology. Beyond its renown as a prime camping destination, Jara Island has also gained fame for hosting the Jarasum International Jazz Festival annually since 2004.

Herb Village (허브빌리지)

Gyeonggido 37 ,Buksam-ro 20 beon-gil, Wangjing-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do The Herb Village in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do Province gives a splendid view of Imjingang River. This beautiful oasis is perfect for a relaxing day out of Seoul with the whole family. Colorful flowers, wooden benches, original statues, and a beautiful landscape decorate the whole space of the garden. One can just take a leisurely walk down the hill towards the river while stopping to smell the herbs every once in a while. If you need some refreshments, there are a couple of restaurants in the garden. If you want to stay overnight, there is beautiful guesthouse that offers comfortable accommodation. The village also has an herb jjimjilbang (Korean sauna) that creates a romantic ambience after sunset with candle lights, and foot baths that use different herbs can be found outside. The village is just a short drive from Seoul and one can enjoy a scenic view of the surroundings along the way.

Gyeonggi Janggyeongsa Temple (장경사(경기))

Gyeonggido 676, Namhansanseong-ro, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do Janggyeongsa Temple is located in Namhansanseong Fortress. Namhansanseong Fortress, which protected Seoul along with Bukhansanseong Fortress, was built at the same time as Janggyeongsa Temple in 1638, during the 16th year of King Injo. Warrior monks from all eight provinces throughout the countryhelped with the construction. Janggyeongsa Temple is the only remaining temple among nine such temples where military groups made up of monks stayed for trainings.

Gyeonggido 40 Eoreumsil-ro Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do It is the place where I.O.I and Wanna One debuted through Mnet's global idol development project 'Produce X 101', and IZ*ONE debuted after 'Produce 48'. The Japanese version of 'Produce X 101' also had 101 performers filming together at the Hallyu training center here. As the old English Village Paju Camp, it is a 3E space that combines various cultures with Education, Experience, and Entertainment. It is good to take pictures in exotic streets and buildings.
