Yongyeon Pond (용연)

Jejudo 73 Heungun-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Yongyeon Pond, located where water from Hallasan Mountain meets the sea, is aptly named "where dragons frolic,”reflecting its stunning vistas and crystal-clear waters. The Yongyeon Cloud Bridge, spanning the area's cliffs, is particularly famous for its breathtaking night views. Additionally, the area becomes a cultural hub every summer with the Yongyeon Floating Musical Concert, an event that recreates the ambiance of late Joseon-era musical performances held on boats, offering a uniqe blend of history and entertainment.

Yongsu Port (용수항)

Jejudo Yongsu-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Yongsu Port is a small fisihing port located in the Yongsu-ri area of Jeju. It marks the end point of the Jeju Olle Trail Route 12 and the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Route 13. The port offers a beautiful blue silhouette view of Chagwido Island, the biggest uninhabited island in Jeju. On both sides of the village, visitors can find Bangsatap towers, which are believed to protect the village.

Yongnunioreum Volcanic Cone (용눈이오름)

Jejudo 28 Jongdal-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Yongnunioreum Volcanic Cone is located in the eastern part of Jeju. It connects three craters and creates beautiful ridges. Its relatively low x_height makes reaching its summit easy. The top offers panoramic views of Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone and Udo Island in the distance. In spring and summer, the area is covered with green grass, while silver grass takes over in fall and winter.

Yongmeorihaean Coast (용머리해안)

Jejudo 28 Sagyenam-ro 216beon-gil, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Yongmeorihaean Coast is a hydrovolcano rocky shore formed by the accumulation of volcanic debris erupted from three craters under the sea. The coastal cliffs look like a dragon's head ('Yongmeori') due to long periods of sedimentation and erosion. The oddly shaped cliffs created by the waves provide a magnificent scene. The shore platform by the sea serves as a walking trail. Along the road down to the seashore is the Hamel Monument, in remembrance of Hamel who drifted to this place.

Yongduam Rock (용두암)

Jejudo Yongduam-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Situated on the northern coast in downtown Jeju, Yongduam Rock is an estimated 10-meter-tall stone that has been worn down over time by strong winds and waves into a shape resembling a dragon's head. There are many legends surrounding the rock. One legend has it that a dragon stealing precious jade from Hallasan Mountain was shot down by an arrow from the mountain deity. When he fell down, his body immediately sank into the ocean and his head rapidly froze looking at the sky. Another legend has it that a white horse, who dreamed of being a dragon and ascending to the sky, came to be caught by a soldier and froze into the rock. From Yongduam Rock, visitors can see haenyeo (female divers) working at catching seafood. Near the rock are various cafes, bars, and restaurants. The coastal road between here and Aewol-eup is popular among couples. Cafes and seafood restaurants began to appear there five years ago and now form a pleasant café village.

Yongcheondonggul Cave [UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site] (…

Jejudo Woljeong-ri, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Yongcheondonggul Cave is the most typical form of lava tunnel on Jeju Island and with a total length of approximately 2,470 meters, it is one of the largest. It has a unique topology and rich limestone formations such as lava terrace, lava shelves, lava waterfalls, and 140 meters of lava rolls. In particular, a range of carbonate formations such as straw soda, stalactite, columns, flowstones, cave corals, and aragonite crystals can be found inside this large cave that also contains a lake. This unique cave is astounding in terms of its geological value and beauty. There are also items that can be found throughout the cave that appear to have been brought in by people who lived on the island long ago, such as pieces of pottery, animal bones, ironware, charcoal and other substances. * The UNESCO World Heritage inscribed Geomunoreum Lava Tube System consists of Bengdwigul, Manjanggul, Gimnyeonggul, Yongcheondonggul and Dangcheomuldonggul Caves.

Yeongsil Trail (Hallasan National Park) (한라산 영실)

Jejudo 246, Yeongsil-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Yeongsil Trail is renowned as the shortest yet the best one for its beautiful scenery among those of Hallasan Mountain. It is 5.8 kilometers and takes approximately 2 hour and 30 minutes to get to the destination. Starting from Yeongsil Rest Area, an uphill path emerges along steep mountain ridges to reach the Nambyeok Watershed. With its steep and flat parts, the hike is easy enough for children. It's a wonderful way to appreciate the lush forest and beautiful scenery.

Yeomiji Botanic Garden (여미지식물원)

Jejudo 93 Jungmungwangwang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Yeomiji Botanic Garden features a vast outdoor garden spanning 110,000 square meters and an indoor botanical garden covering 10,000 square meters. With over 2,300 species of plants, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Jungmun Tourist Complex, Cheonjeyeonpokpo Falls, Hallasan Mountain, and the coastline from the central observation tower indoors. Outdoors, there are themed gardens representing Korea, Japan, Italy, and France. The cactus garden also showcases baobab trees.

Woljeongri Beach (월정리해변(월정리해수욕장))

Jejudo 480-1 Haemajihaean-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Woljeong-ri, a village located on the east side of Jeju Island, holds the meaning "the moon stays." The beautiful emerald sea spreads out like a picture, and the bright moon shines above it. As more and more travelers visited the beach to appreciate its beauty, many restaurants, cafes, and lodging facilities started to form along the shoreline. Some cafes placed chairs for people to relax in while looking at the sea, which became an iconic photo spot of Woljeongri Beach. The beach is also a popular location for a variety of water sports such as surfing, snorkeling, and kayaking. Woljeongri Beach is popular among surfers because it has waves with a uniform x_height that are constantly coming in. Udo Sanho Beach (Seobinbaeksa) (우도 산호해변 (서빈백사))

Jejudo 252, Udohaean-gil, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Udo's Coral Beach glows white with a hint of blue beneath emerald sunlight, earning its name Seobinbaeksa for its white sands on the island's western shore. The sea's color shifts with depth, rivaling any Pacific or Mediterranean waters. It's popular as a beach in summer and a great photo spot in spring and fall. Nearby, you'll find many restaurants serving Udo peanut ice cream and handmade burgers, along with charming cafes. The sand here is formed from red algae, a type of marine algae, washed ashore and deposited. This type of beach is also called a red algae concretion coral beach. Red algae conglomerate refers to the state where red algae accumulate calcium carbonate during their physiological processes, hardening into a rock-like solid. Beaches formed from red algae conglomerate are rare worldwide, making them academically valuable.

Spirited Garden (생각하는 정원)

Jejudo 675, Nokchabunjae-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Spirited Garden is home to hundreds of bonsai plants in a natural garden with the theme of oreum (volcanic cone) and water. The name changed from Bunjae Arpia in 2007 to commemorate the 15th anniversary after opening and to renew the garden as an international garden. The history of the garden started in 1963 when Seong Beom-yeong, the founder of the garden, came to Jeju and cultivated the wasteland full of rocks. The garden came into the international spotlight as the beautiful space was created from the wastelands by a single farmer. The garden has been visited by many honored public figures such as Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao from China, Nakasone from Japan, Kim Yongsun from North Korea and others. Currently, about 400 planted trees are on display. Also, visitors can see various facilities including stone walls and stone towers stacked with Jeju volcanic stones, the largest artificial waterfall in Jeju, and a pond filled with large carp at the base of the the waterfall.

Suwolbong Tuff Cone and Chagwi Coast (수월봉과 차귀해안)

Jejudo 1013-70, Noeulhaean-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju-do Located at the western end of Jeju Island, Suwolbong Tuff Cone, a small mountain, is famous for being a favorite sunset viewing place. The mountain has vertical cliffs spreading out like a scroll painting, created from the sea waves gradually cutting inland. To the north, off the coast, is Chagwido Island, where only the top peak area has grass growing, and the rest of the island is made up of dark basalt rocks and cliffs. Around sunset, Chagwido’s seashore turns crimson red from the sun and is truly an amazing sight to behold.
