Nagwoldo Island (낙월도)
Jeollanamdo Sangnagwon-ri, Nagwol-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do Located off the coast of Jeollanam-do Province, Nagwoldo Island has a population of just under 300. In addition to a large sandy beach, the island features a small yet charming fishing village, and a couple of hiking trails that meander through its great natural scenery. Island History Nagwoldo Island, which belongs to Nagwol-myeon, borders with Imja-myeon, Sinan-gun to its south. Before it was called Nagwoldo, the island had been called Jinwoldo during the Joseon Dynasty, Daenagwoldo since 1896 when it became part of Jido-gun, then Sangnagwoldo in 1914 when it became part of Yeonggwang-gun.

Naganminsok National Recreational Forest (국립 낙안민속자연휴양림)
Jeollanamdo 1600, Minsongmaeul-gil, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do Naganminsok National Recreational Forest is situated in Nagan-myeon, Suncheon, conveniently accessible by train and bus. Just two kilometers from the historic Naganeupseong Walled Town, Naganminsok National Recreational Forest boasts exquisite surroundings. Some famous attractions near the forest are Songgwangsa Temple, Seonamsa Temple, Juamho Lake, and Sangsaho Lake, offering opportunities to appreciate ancient temples and the glow of the setting sun over the lakes. Perhaps more famous nearby attractions, though, are the breathtaking rows of reeds at Suncheonman Bay and Naganeupseong Walled Town, the home of cultural festivals and events. The forest is surrounded by mountains and a river with a homely garden atmosphere. The two beautiful mountains, Geumjeonsan and Obongsan snuggly envelop Naganminsok National Recreational Forest. On rainy days, visitors can enjoy spectacular cascading falls of water at Cheonyeopokpo Falls within the forest.

Naganeupseong Walled Town (순천 낙안읍성)
Jeollanamdo 30, Chungmin-gil, Nagan-myeon, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do Naganeupseong Walled Town is located in Jeollanam-do, and contains a fortress town that is over 59,504 ㎡ in size. The fortress walls were built using square-shaped stones to reach 4 meters in x_height, 3 to 4 meters in x_width, and 1,410 meters in total length. The town consists of three neighborhoods along the east, south and west of the fortress walls. The village is overall well preserved, allowing visitors to observe houses and lifestyles that have all been passed down from the past. The town is highly valued as a historical and cultural resource for studying traditional folk customs.

Nokdong Port (녹동항)
Jeollanamdo Doyang-eup, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do Located at the heart of maritime transportation connecting Sorokdo Island, Geomundo Island, and Jeju-do, Nokdong Port serves as a pivotal harbor. Annually in May, the Nokdong Maritime Fireworks Festival and Music Festival take place at the port. From May to November, every Saturday evening, a drone show is held against the backdrop of the night sea at Nokdong Port. Surrounding the harbor are a passenger terminal and a traditional market where various seafood products from the nearby waters of Goheung are sold at affordable prices.

Nojeokbong Peak (노적봉)
Jeollanamdo Daeui-dong, Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do Nojeokbong Peak is marked by a large boulder on Yudalsan Mountain overlooking Mokpo. This peak was used during the Imjin War (1592-1598) by Admiral Yi Sun-sin to win a victory without fighting. Men made of straw were placed throughout the mountain to create the appearance of a larger force, causing the invading Japanese navy to flee.

National Jangseong Healing Forest (국립장성치유의숲)
Jeollanamdo 716 Chuam-ro, Seosam-myeon, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do National Jangseong Healing Forestis a natural recreational facility located in the Chungnyeongsan National Forest, opened in 2011. Visitors can be relaxed by walking along the cypress forest trail emitting phytoncides. There are seven hiking courses designed with various themes and slopes. Following the main course, the "Well-being Forest Path," hikers will encounter the Chungnyeongsan Observatory, where they can enjoy panoramic views of the mountain and see the cypress forest at a glance.

Myeonangjeong Pavilion (면앙정)
Jeollanamdo 382-11 Myeonangjeong-ro, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do Myeonangjeong Pavilion is located on the slopes of Jebongsan Mountain in Damyang-gun. The pavilion was constructed in 1533 by Song Sun (1493-1583), who built it as a place for writing poems. After its construction, the pavilion served as a meeting place for scholars and intellectuals and was even frequented by Lee Hwang (1501-1570), a representative Confucian scholar who is pictured on the 1,000 won bill. The roof of Myeonangjeong Pavilion was originally made of reeds, straw, grass and other materials which could not withstand the elements. After several repairs, the building was developed into the wooden structure that it is today. From the back of the pavilion, you can see the mountain range and open wide fields; renowned scholars’ poems are engraved on the wooden panels that decorate the pavilion walls.

Muwisa Temple (무위사)

Museulmokhaebyeon Beach (무슬목 해변)
Jeollanamdo 2876, Dolsan-ro, Dolsan-eup, Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do Museulmokhaebyeon Beach is not only a site of great victory achieved by Admiral Yi Sun-sin but also a tranquil beach with a beautiful seaside pine forest, which makes it ideal as a place to take a leisurely walk in. This pebble beach is also a part of the Namdo Seaside Trail and Yeosu Gaetga-gil Trail Course 2. When the tides recede, a white sand beach is revealed, showing a different side to this magical beach. Museulmokhaebyeon Beach is a beloved sunrise spot that draws a large crowd on the first day of the year, while photographers flock to the beach throughout the four seasons to capture the beautiful view. You can see the sculptures inspired by Yeosu seas within the pine forest, walk leisurely along the horizon, and enjoy the scenery of the wide sea dotted by islands. One can also find the Jeollanam-do Maritime & Fisheries Science Museum at the entrance to the beach, so there’s plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas as well.

Jangsupungdengi Village (장수풍뎅이마을)

Jangseongho Tourist Area (장성호관광지)
Jeollanamdo 591-8, Baegyang-ro, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do Jangseongho Tourist Area is located south of Naejangsan National Park, in Jangseong, known as the hometown of Hong Gil-dong, a Korean Robin Hood. The lake was made by the damming of Hwangnyonggang River, and holds up to 89.7 million tons of water, filled with many freshwater fish species. In addition, the walking path along the 603-meter-long embankment attracts many tourists with beautiful views of the mountains and lake. Cruise ferries and motorboats also cross the lake. Nearby attractions include Ibamsan and Baegamsan Mountains, Namchanggyegok Valley, Baegyangsa and Naejangsa Temples, Gosanseowon Confucian Academy, Bangjangsan Recreational Forest, and more.

Jangheung Jeongnamjin (정남진(장흥))
Jeollanamdo Gwansan-eup, Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do Jangheung-gun’s Jeongnamjin is the warmest place on the Korean mainland. The region has a diverse natural environment including stunning views of mountains, fields, the ocean, lakes, rivers and streams. It also has several cultural and tourist sites such as Cheongwansan Mountain, Bangchon Cultural Village, and Borimsa Temple, one of the three Borimsa Temples in Asia. The Jeongnamjin district has a wide variety of tourist attractions nearby such as the Samsan Embankment; a provincial park on Cheongwansan Mountain; a literature park; and Sodeungseom Island, a famous sunset attraction often used as a filming location and festival grounds. A number of festivals are held around the area to promote the region's diverse produce and beauty.
