Asan Mediterranean Village (지중해마을)

Chungcheongnamdo 55-7, Tangjeongmyeon-ro 8beon-gil, Tangjeong-myeon, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do Asan Mediterranean Village, also called Blue Crystal Village, is made up of buildings reminiscent of those found in a Mediterranean village. It is particularly interesting because it is housed in the heart of a modern city. The village is divided into two sections, one taking after the Provence in southern France and the other resembling Santorini in Greece. Famous sights include the photo areas of angel’s wings and a lighthouse-shaped red postbox, along with cafés and stores.

Asan Maengssi Haengdan House - Maeng Sa-seong House (아산 맹씨행단…

Chungcheongnamdo 23-4, Haengdan-gil, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do Maeng Sa-seong is a major figure in Cheonbaek-ri and was a prime minister during the early years of the Joseon dynasty. His house is the oldest private residence in Korea, and was originally General Choi Yeong’s home, before he turned it over to his grand son-in-law, Maeng Sa-seong. The simple residence houses two 600-year-old gingko trees in the yard. Therefore it has been named ‘Haengdan’, meaning that Confucius taught on top of the gingko tree symbolizing a place of learning. For that reason it is inferred that Maeng Sa-seong intentionally planted gingko trees in the yard and taught junior scholars. The two gingko trees provide a cool shade and give out five sacks of gingko nuts each year.

Archaeological Site in Seokjang-ri, Gongju (공주 석장리 유적)

Chungcheongnamdo 990, Geumbyeok-ro, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do The Archaeological Site in Seokjang-ri, Gongju is located approximately 6 kilometers out of the city of Gongju, on the northern banks of the Geumgang River. The site is one of Korea's representative relic sites of the Old Stone Age, and is designated Historic Site No. 334. The site was excavated 10 times between 1964 and 1974 by teams from Yonsei University Museum. The excavation of 27 layers of stratum produced relics proving people lived in the area through 11 cultural eras. The area was excavated again in 1990 and 1993, producing even more cultural artifacts and helping to create a clearer image of the people living in that time.

Archaeological Site in Gwanbuk-ri and Busosanseong Fortress …

Chungcheongnamdo Gua-ri & Gwanbuk-ri, Buyeo-eup, Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Archaeological Site in Gwanbuk-ri and Busosanseong Fortress are historical sites dating back to the Baekje period (BC 18-AD 660), when they served as the capital from 538 to 660 AD. Archaeological Site in Gwanbuk-ri functioned as the royal palace where the king resided and governed during peacetime, while Busosanseong Fortress served as a defensive wall for wartime preparedness. Many Baekje historical relics have been excavated from these sites, and there is a virtual experience center called Sabido Fortress for visitors to explore, along with guided tour services available.

Anmyeondo Island Recreational Forest (안면도자연휴양림)

Chungcheongnamdo 3195-6, Anmyeon-daero, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Anmyeondo in Taean is home to a 100 year old pine tree forest that is special in Korea. The natural forest was managed by the royal family during the Goryeo Dynasty and since 1965 has been managed by the province of Chungcheongnam-do. The Forest Exhibition Hall in Anmyeondo Recreational Forest displays the producing process of wood, the uses of wood, the forest’s worth, and more in an easy to comprehend manner. The Forest Cabin and Forest Recreation Center have a gas stove, cooking utensils, and shower facilities.

Anmyeondo Island (안면도)

Chungcheongnamdo 149 Jangteo-ro, Anmyeon-eup, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Anmyeondo Island is the sixth-largest island in Korea. Originally part of the mainland, it became an island after a canal was constructed to improve grain transportation. In 1970, a bridge reconnected it to the mainland. It is renowned for hosting Korea's only maritime national park. The island boasts fourteen beaches and the Anmyeondo Recreation Forest. It is also recognized for the "Population of Golden Rain Trees," designated as a Natural Monument.

Anmyeon Beach (안면 해수욕장)

Chungcheongnamdo Jeongdang-ri, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Anmyeon Beach is a 10-minute drive away from Yeonyukgyo Bridge, located in southern Taean. The way to the beach is led by sceneries of mountains and rice paddies. Upon arrival, the view gets replaced with a wide-open sandy beach with small islets scattered across the ocean. Anmyeon Beach is also a popular site for rock fishing and catching clams and baby crabs at low tide.

Agroland Taeshin Farm (아그로랜드 태신목장)

Chungcheongnamdo 231 Sangmong 2-gil, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Agroland Taeshin Farm was first established during the Quickening period of the Korean dairy farming industry and has been striving ceaselessly for the growth of the livestock industry. It was the first farm in Korea to be certified as a "dairy experience farm" and, since its opening in 2004, it has enabled visitors to experience the farm and its cows and livestock. It offers a pastoral view of green grassland and an experience of being around cows. Visitors can also take part in a variety of dairy experiences as they milk cows themselves in the experience room, feed them grass and food in the green plains and use the milk to make ice cream or shaved ice.
