Dosolgyegok Valley (Seonunsan Mountain) (도솔계곡 (선운산))

Jeollabukdo 250, Seonunsa-ro, Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk-do Dosolgyegok Valley is located in Seonunsan Mountain in the Gochang-gun district. Seonunsan Mountain, which is also called Dosolsan Mountain, is known for its thick forests and intriguing rock formations. Along the valley, there are many interesting sites such as Jinheungdonggul Cave, Yongmundonggul Cave, Nakjodae Overlook, and Cheonma peak. Dosolgyegok Valley is also famous for being very deep, where the mountain and water fight each other and whirl around in a yin & yang shape. The green forests in summer cover the valley beautifully, and the red leaves and white snow decorate the area in fall and winter.

Gyeongsangbukdo 154 Dosanseowon-gil, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do In terms of architecture, Dosanseowon Confucian Academy complex can largely be divided into Dosanseodang compound and Dosanseowon compound. Dosanseodang area consists of living quarters and lecture halls where Toegye Yi Hwang, an eminent Confucian scholar, lived and taught his students. Dosanseowon was built after Toegye Yi Hwang passed away by his followers' to honor the legacy of his teachings as well as to pay respects to the deceased.Built in 1561, Dosanseodang lecture hall is the oldest building in the whole complex. It was personally designed by Yi Hwang, penname Toegye, to further his studies while educating future scholars after moving to the countryside. Living quarters used as a student dormitory were also built along with the lecture hall.Dosanseowon compound was completed in 1576, six years after Yi Hwang's death. Yi Hwang's ancestral tablet was enshrined inside Sangdeoksa Shrine in 1572. Two years later, Jeongyodang Lecture Hall was built to relocate the tablet and with the addition of buildings to the hall's east and west, the area became a seowon. In 1575, the establishment was bestowed a royal charter and a plaque with the name Dosanseowon written by Han Seok-bong, and became the Confucian academy headquarters in the Yeongnam region.◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - variety show"I Am Solo"This is where participants were dressed in hanbok and matched with a partner based solely on the color of their clothes, regardless of their will. Dosan Park (도산공원)

Seoul 20, Dosan-daero 45-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul Located in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, Dosan Park, a neighborhood park, was built in 1973 to pay tribute to Dosan Ahn Chang-ho’s patriotism. Dosan Ahn Chang-ho’s tomb was moved here from Manguri Public Cemetery as well as his wife, Lee Hyeryen, whose tomb was moved from Los Angeles. The tribute was extended by naming the boulevard from Cheongdam-dong to Nonhyeon-dong, as Dosan-daero. Visitors can find a bronze statue, monument with quotations, epitaph headstone and more within the park. Commemoration event is held on March 10th of every year.

Dorisan Observatory (도리산전망대)

Jeollanamdo 54, Jodo-daero, Jodo-myeon, Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do Located at the top of Mt. Dorisan in Yeomi-ri of Sangjodo Island, Dorisan Observatory is the highlight of the area, and offers panoramic views of Dadohae and its many islands including Gwanmae, Byeongpung, Nabae, Daema and Soma Islands. The eco-friendly structure provides panoramic views of nearby islands that locals like to say, “appear scattered over the sea like a flock of birds over water.” Visitors can enjoy majestic sunrise and sunset views, and on days with clear visibility, can see Bogildo Island in Haenam and even as far as Hallasan Mountain and Chujado Island in Jeju. Another of Jodo’s attractions is the nature lover spots on Hajodo Island. Jodo is comprised of the Sangjodo and Hajodo Islands connected by a bridge. The entire area is filled with pine trees and has plenty of beach access. The nearby Dondaebong Peak (230m) and the Hajodo Lighthouse offer comparable views and scenic landscapes for visitors in the area to enjoy.

Dorisa Temple (Gumi) (도리사(구미))

Gyeongsangbukdo 526 Dorisa-ro, Haepyeong-myeon, Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Dorisa Temple, established in 417 as the earliest temple of the Silla dynasty on Naengsan Mountain, is steeped in legend. It's said that even in winter, the peach and plum blossoms here were in full bloom, marking the site as auspicious for temple construction. Hence, the temple's name, Dorisa, derives from combining syllables of “peach” (do) and “plum” (ri). The temple is home to notable cultural assets such as Geungnakjeon Hall, a unique Stone Pagoda constructed from bricks, and the Wooden Seated Amitabha Buddha, crafted from juniper wood. For those seeking spiritual respite, the temple offers templestay programs in three distinct categories: one-day, experience, and relaxation.

Doripo (도리포)

Jeollanamdo Songseok-ri, Haeje-myeon, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do A great sunrise and sunset spot, Doripo Park is situated in Doripo on the northwestern end of Haejebando Peninsula, which forms the boundary between Muan-gun, Yeonggwang-gun, and Hampyeong-gun Counties. The long sandy beach and the dense pine tree grove offer a nice environment for sunbathing. A little farther down from the sandy beach, is the Doripo Port. The port protrudes towards the sea, so people can view the sunrise from there. On the other side of the port towards Chilsan Sea, people can also view beautiful sunset glows. Just like other famous sunrise spots on the West Coast, Doripo watches the sun rise from the sea in Hampyeong in the winter and from the mountain in Yeonggwang in the summer. Every year, a special sunrise event is held on the first day of the New Year. Another attraction of Doripo is fishing for sea bream and sea bass in Chilsan Sea, which nearby Yeonggwang-gun and Hampyeong-gun Counties. A total of 639 relics from the Goryeo Era have been found in the area, including historical relics like blue celadon bowls unearthed in October 1995, resulting in the area being designated a Historical Site no. 395 of Jeollanam-do. Nearby, tourist sites include Bongdaesan Mountain (195 meters) and Wongapsa Temple.

Dori Village Ginkgo Tree Forest (도리마을은행나무숲)

Dorasan Station (도라산역)

Gyeonggido 556, Nosang-ri, Jangdan-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do Dorasan Station is the closest South Korean railway station to North Korea. Initially, the station was served by a railway that connected Seoul with China and Europe, but it was destroyed during the Korean War (1950-1953). The station and the railway were rebuilt in 2002 to prepare for the railway’s reconnection to North Korea. Dorasan Station is located 55 km away from Seoul and 205 km from Pyeongyang. All visitors are required to bring their identification, such as passports or Alien Registration Card (ARC).

Dora Observatory (도라전망대)

Gyeonggido 310 Je3ttanggul-ro, Jangdan-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do Dora Observatory is the closest DMZ observatory to Panmunjeom. From Dora Observatory, one can see not only the Panmunjeom but also the village of Daeseong-dong within the DMZ, mountains and farmlands on the North Korean side, and the city of Gaeseong, a North Korean city and the historic capital of Goryeo (918-1392). Individual visits are not allowed. The observatory can only be accessed through the DMZ Peace Tour, which embarks from Imjingak Pavilion after reservation. All visitors are required to bring their identification, such as passports or Alien Registration Card (ARC).

Dongtan Central Park (동탄센트럴파크)

Gyeonggido 22 Dongtangongwon-ro 2-gil, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do Dongtan Central Park is a sports facility and park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do. Completed in 2008, the facility has a variety of sports amenities and equipment as well as a recreational area for the public to enjoy light exercises in the park. Dongsan Cheongna Hill (동산청라언덕)

Daegu 2029 Dalgubeol-daero, Jung-gu, Daegu Cheongna Hill is the place where Christian missionaries resided during the early 20 century, planting many ivies along the site. It is also called Dongsan Cheongna Hill for being on the eastern side of Daegu's center. There are many attractions in this beautiful garden including Chamness’ House, Switzer’s House, Blair’s House, 90 stairs, Daegu 3.1 Independence Movement Road, Daegu's first western apple tree, a memorial stone inscribed with the song "Thinking of My Friend” , and the cemetery of the missionaries and their family. Cheongna Hill is also the starting point of Daegu's Street Tour Course 2 as well as a popular drama film location.
