Paradise Spa Dogo (파라다이스 스파 도고)

Chungcheongnamdo 176 Dogooncheon-ro, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do Paradise Spa Dogo, a government-designated hot spring in Korea, is a large resort facility opened by the Paradise Group in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do, an area renowned for its hot springs. It is the first government-designated hot spring in Chungcheong-do, a designation granted after review and approval by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Spanning an area of 24,622 square meters, the facility can accommodate up to approx. 5,000 guests. It has a Bade (meaning bathing) pool, which can also be used for hydrotherapy; a large hot spring bath where you can enjoy a sauna and relax in warm sulfur spring water year-round; and various water recreational facilities. In particular, the outdoor event spa, featuring various seasonal themes, is quite popular. In winter, you can enjoy a Siberian ginseng water bath, a ginger water bath, a tangerine peel water bath, and many more. Additionally, unique weekend package programs await you with activities like kimchi-making, persimmon-picking, and ranch experiences in addition to enjoying the hot spring.

Padori Beach (파도리해수욕장)

Chungcheongnamdo 490-85 Mohangpado-ro, Sowon-myeon, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Padori Beach, located at the westernmost point of the Taeanbando Peninsula, overlooks the Yellow Sea. It features both a sandy shore and a pebble beach composed of small, rounded pebbles eroded by the sea, known as haeok. Collecting haeok for personal use is forbidden; however, they are available for purchase at the showroom. North of the beach, a wave-formed cave can be found. Sea bathing at the beach is permitted exclusively from July to August. Additionally, there is a campground nestled within the pine forest.

Oseosan National Recreational Forest (국립 오서산자연휴양림)

Chungcheongnamdo 531, Oseosan-gil, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do Oseosan National Recreational Forest was opened on September 22, 2001 around Myeongdaegyegok Valley in Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do. The area is separated from the city area, making it perfect for peaceful retreats into nature. There is a training center and many walking paths through the forest. The trail leading to the summit of Oseosan Mountain is popular among families and couples for its view of the sunset.

Namdang Port (남당항)

Chungcheongnamdo Namdang-ri, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Namdang Port is a representative port on the West Coast. Known for having plenty of prawn, cockle, flat fish, rock fish and other types of seafood, the port draws visitors all year round. Cockles in particular are a local delicacy, usually enjoyed as cockle shabu shabu or charcoal-grilled cockle. A nearby attraction to visit is the bamboo grove of Jukdo Island

Munheonseowon Confucian Academy (문헌서원)

Chungcheongnamdo 66 Seowon-ro 172beon-gil, Gisan-myeon, Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Munheonseowon Confucian Academy was established to pay tribute to the memory of Lee Gok (1298-1351) and Lee Saek (1328-1396) who were well-respected for their writings and character. The school was originally built in 1594, but was burnt down during the Imjin War (1592-1598). It was rebuilt in 1610 and became a legislated private institute in 1611. The academy consists of an educational area and a shrine. Mortuary tablets of five Confucian scholars including Lee Jong-hak, Lee Ja, Lee Gae as well as Lee Gok and Lee Saek were enshrined at the school.

Muchangpo Beach Palace Spa (무창포 비체팰리스 스파)

Chungcheongnamdo 78, Yeollinbada 1-gil, Ungcheon-eup, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do Muchangpo Beache Palace Spa has a variety of facilities including Spa Santorino, a couple’s spa, a therapeutic foot massage spa, a pine tree leaf spa, a rooibos spa, an outdoor swimming pool (1.2m deep, 25m long), sun beds, and beach parasols. The pine tree spa is good for boosting blood circulation, relieving nerve pain, and reducing stress, while the rooibos spa is said to reduce pain, fever, and allergy symptoms.

Muchangpo Beach (무창포해수욕장)

Chungcheongnamdo 10 Yeollinbada 1-gil, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do Muchangpo Beach was a military site during the Joseon dynasty and was the first beach to open on the west coast in 1928. The beach has a length of 1.5 kilometers and x_width of 50 meters. The water level is 1-2 meters and the water temperature is approximately 22 degrees Celsius. The surrounding pine forest is lush and beautiful. In particular, there is a fishing spot with a large rock formation in front of the beach. For one to two days each month, there is a phenomenon known as "Moses' Miracle," where the tides subside and reveal a 1.5-kilometer-long path in the middle of the sea. This mysterious sea road was thought to only appear during summer, however it was later revealed that it actually occurs every lunar month. In 1996, the beach was open to the general public. The red lighthouse towering at the end of the long breakwater is as impressive as a picture. The pretty pensions right in front of the sandy beach add to the scenery. Also, Daecheonhang Port is a 20 minutes drive away, and there visitors can enjoy fresh seafood and grilled shellfish at an affordable price.

Mongsanpo Beach (몽산포해수욕장)

Chungcheongnamdo 65-27, Mongsanpo-gil, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Mongsanpo Beach, part of Taeanhaean National Park, stretches 18 kilometers southwest of Seosan, 9 kilometers south of Taean and along the west coast of the Nammyeon Peninsula. Mongsanpo's white sand beach is around 3 kilometers long and has a 5 degree tilt. The water is 1~2 meters deep with an average temperature of 22 degrees Celsius. The beach is surrounded by a dense forest of pine trees. The pine tree forest along the beach serves as a good auto-camping location to enjoy some fresh air and the natural beauty of the surroundings. During low tide, the muddy sediments deposited by the tide provide a place where people come to catch clams and mud crabs or as a field trip for children to learn the mudflat ecosystem. A 1-kilometer drive in the western direction while passing through the spectacular pine tree tunnel brings visitors to Mongdaepogu Port where a number of fishing boats are docked. Near the port, there are a number of small seafood eateries to enjoy freshly sliced raw fish at reasonable prices.

Mireuseom Island (미르섬)

Chungcheongnamdo 368 Geumbyeok-ro, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do Mireuseom Island is covered in a blanket of beautiful plants every fall, from cosmos to pink muhly, broom cypress and pearl millet. The pink muhly growing along the Geumgang River is a popular photo spot. The beautiful landscape unfolds the longer you walk towards Gongjudaegyo Bridge.

Mallipo Beach (만리포해수욕장)

Chungcheongnamdo 138 Mallipo 2-gil, Sowon-myeon, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Mallipo Beach, located in Taean, is a C-shaped, flat sandy beach with shallow waters, making it ideal for swimming and various water sports during the summer. Adjacent to the beach, a pine forest provides a perfect spot for camping. Numerous nearby shops offer accommodations and fresh seafood. Additionally, the observatory offers spectacular views of the West Sea and its stunning sunsets.

Magoksa Temple [UNESCO World Heritage] (마곡사 [유네스코 세계문화유산])

Chungcheongnamdo 966 Magoksa-ro, Sagok-myeon, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do Situated at the foot of Taehwasan Mountain in Gongju, Magoksa Temple was established in 640. It is reputed to protect its occupants from war, and indeed, the temple survived the Japanese invasion of Korea (also known as the Imjin War; 1592-1598) and the Korean War (1950-1953). It houses numerous cultural heritage items, and visitors can participate in the Templestay program to experience life in a Korean Buddhist temple.

Mageompo Beach (마검포해수욕장)

Chungcheongnamdo Sinon-ri, Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Mageompo Beach in Nam-myeon, Taean-gun is located right before the bridge that leads to Anmyeondo Island. As the beach is not widely popular among tourists, one can spend a quiet and tranquil vacation here. Near the beach is a dense pine tree forest where one can enjoy camping. The white sand and shallow waters also make it a good place for kids to swim. In the evening, the beach is a great spot to watch the breathtaking sunset.This beach is famous for silchi-hoe, a dish consisting of freshly sliced raw fish. The ocean near the beach is one of the biggest natural sources of fresh seafood such as anchovy, sand eel and short arm octopus.
