Gangwondo Sincheorwon-ri, Galmal-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do Sambuyeonpokpo Falls, among the nine scenic spots in Cheorwon, is a three-tiered waterfall standing at approximately 20 meters high, situated in the granite area of Myeongseongsan Mountain. This natural wonder was formed by water flowing over an extended period subsequent to the exposure of granite intrusion from the Mesozoic Cretaceous period, estimated to be around 110 million years ago. The name "Sambuyeon" originates from the distinctive three bends in the water stream and the lower part of the waterfall's resemblance to a cauldron.

Sambong National Recreational Forest (국립 삼봉자연휴양림)

Gangwondo 276, Sambonghyuyang-gil, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do Located in Odaesan National Park, Sambong National Recreational Forest is filled with large acicular trees like fir and broad-leaved trees like birch. Lenoks, a species of freshwater fish that are considered a Korean natural treasure, found only in the cleanest water, thrive in the waters of the deep valley running through the park. The park is surrounded by three peaks – Gachilbong Peak (1,240 meters), Eungboksan Mountain (1,155 meters), and Sasambong Peak (1,107 meters). Sambong Mineral Spring is found In the middle of the three peaks. The spring’s waters are said to ease stomach complaints. The park is also popular since visitors can see beautiful fall foliage in autumn while enjoying the mountains and sea at the same time in summer.

Samaksan Mountain (삼악산 (춘천))

Gangwondo 159, Baksa-ro, Seo-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do Samaksan Mountain, paralleling to Uiamho Lake and the Bukhangang River, is one of the best scenic mountains in Chuncheon. As the mountain (san) comprises three rocky peaks (samak), which are Yonghwabong (main peak, 654 m), Cheongunbong (546 m), and Deungseonbong (632 m), it was named Samaksan Mountain. Although it is not a high and majestic mountain, it is considered a mountain with splendid scenery. Samaksan Mountain embraces a fantastic gorge formed through quartzitic jointing and waterfalls. Waterfalls in different sizes, such as Deungseon Falls, Seunghak Falls, and Juryeom Falls, create the splendid landscape, and the top of the mountain commands a panoramic view of downtown Chuncheon along with Uiamho Lake and the Bukhangang River. As its name tells, Samaksan Mountain is known for its rugged and precipitous features (aksan meaning a rugged, rocky mountain). The main access road to the mountain starts from the Deungseon Falls’ ticket booth and the Uiam Ticket Booth, and the trail from Uiam covers a hard, rocky section. As Gangwon-do Monument No. 16, Samaksan Mountain also has various interesting attractions, including Sangwonsa Temple, Heungguksa Temple, and Samaksanseong Fortress.

The beach area is lined with small, private accommodations, and the beach is complete with changing rooms, drinking fountains, and parasol rentals. The beach is backed by a pine tree forest.

Spanning 800 meters in length and covering a land area of 16,000 square meters, it is conveniently located right next to Sacheon Port. This proximity allows for easy access to fresh fish, along with opportunities for fishing and yachting. Just a 10-minute car ride away from the Gyeongpodae Pavilion, the beach is also surrounded by numerous cafés along the seaside, making it an ideal spot for coffee enthusiasts.

Sacheon Beach (사천해변(사천해수욕장))

The beach opened on July 1, 1975; due to its close location to Gyeongpo Provincial Park, many vacationers choose to come here during the holidays. A thick pine forest spreads out against the beach, and the fine white sand and shallow waters make this area an ideal place for rest and relaxation.

Romyzian Garden (로미지안 가든)

Gangwondo 12, Eodowon-gil, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do Romyzian Garden is a 330,000 square-meter garden located at Hwabong Peak in Gariwangsan Mountain, Jeongseon. Chairman Zin-ick Son of L'BESTE Group began creating this garden in 2011 for his ill wife. Zian was the pen name of President Son, and Romy was the nickname of his wife, inspiring the name "Romyzian Garden." In 2017, the garden was opened to the public to offer warm-hearted comfort and inspiration to more people. Moments of healing, introspection, and contemplation unfold in the garden. The first building that welcomes visitors is called Bible II of Lifetime. Here, you can find the first message in Romyzian Garden to its visitors, “The time to look at my true self.” At the first crossroads stands the Tower of Lifetime, made from 500 to 600-year-old Canadian cedar. The structure symbolizes the life cycle of birth (green), youth (red), and death (black). Gasibeosi (an old Korean word for 'married couple') Castle, the garden's iconic landmark, is like an observatory as it offers expansive views of the surrounding mountains. The 4.5-hour Arahan Valley Pilgrimage Trail and the Geumgang Pine Forest Park offer moments of quiet contemplation. The 150-million-year-old limestone clusters, called the "SKy of the Aura" are not to be missed. Additionally, the garden features a cozy café for a relaxing coffee break and accommodation facilities for those wishing to stay overnight.

Gangwondo 854, Baksa-ro, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do Robot Studio is an experiential exhibition hall that presents a vision of the future robotics, featuring experiment robots, robot avatars, and reproduction of movie scenes. The studio offers a family friendly setting, featuring a toy room, building block games, 4D-media room, robot camp, and more. The studio's major attraction is Despian, a robot that can express human emotions and act scenes from popular movies such as Star Wars and Jaws.

Pyeongchang Eoreumchi Village (평창 어름치마을)

Gangwondo 42-5 Maha-gil, Mitan-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do Pyeongchang Eoreumchi Village is dedicated to preserving the habitat of the Eoreumchi (Cyprinid Fish), a natural monument that thrives in pristine environments. The village offers immersive rural experiences and ecotourism activities. Visitors have the opportunity to engage in water sports like rafting and kayaking on the Donggang River, as well as mountain climbing on Baegunsan Mountain. Other activities include trekking through Chiljokryeong and exploring the Baengnyongdonggul Cave. Reservations for these experiences can be made through their website.

Pungsuwon Catholic Church (횡성 풍수원천주교회(풍수원성당))

Gangwondo 30, Gyeonggang-ro yuhyeon 1-gil, Seowon-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do Pungsuwon was the first catholic village in which over 40 faithful from Yongin (Gyeonggi-do), led by Sin Tae-bo (or St. Peter), settled to escape the wrath of Sinyubakhae (religious persecution of Catholics) of 1801. Over a period of 80 years, the settlers had led their religious lives without a priest until Father Le Merre (a French priest) came to the village in 1888. Succeeding Le Merre in 1896, Father Jeong Gyu-ha (or Augustino), along with Chinese engineers, began to build Pungsuwon Cathedral. Completed in 1907 by the faithful, the cathedral still remains a beautiful building even after 110 years; it is a popular spot for visitors, having frequently appeared in Korean dramas and films such as “Love Letter (1995 MBC miniseries).” It is the first cathedral built by a Korean priest as well as in Gangwon-do; it is the fourth cathedral built in Korea. Pungsuwon Cathedral was designated as Gangwon-do Local Cultural Property No.69 in 1982.
