Gwangju 29-4, Yangchon-gil, Nam-gu, Gwangju The House of Choi Seung-hyo is a traditional residential building located on the southeastern slopes of Yangnimsan Mountain. The rectangular building is open to the east, has 8 kan (the space between two pillars) in the front and 4 kan to the sides, and is graced by a traditional hipped and gabled roof. Since the building was constructed in the 1920s, it offers a valuable glimpse into the architectural style of Korean houses at the end of the Japanese colonial period. Choi Sang-hyeon was an activist who offered his attic as a place of refuge for other activists.

House and Tomb of Kim Jeong-hui (추사김정희선생고택·묘)

Chungcheongnamdo 261, Chusagotaek-ro, Sinam-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do This house and tomb are where Kim Jeong-hui (pen name: Chusa, 1786-1856), a Joseon-era scholar and artist, lived and was laid to rest. Chusa Memorial Hall and Chusa Experience Center are found next to the house. After studying in Qing China, Kim Jeong-hui served in multiple government posts. He is best known for his unique calligraphical style, which bears his courtesy name (Chusa), and many works of art that survive to this day. The Experience Center offers traditional art experiences inspired by Kim Jeong-hui’s works.

Ichon Hangang Park (이촌한강공원)

Seoul 62 Ichon-ro 72-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul Ichon Hangang Park is built along the Hangang Park in Yongsan. Horyonggoksan Mountain (호룡곡산)

Incheon Muui-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon Horyonggoksan Mountain, the tallest peak on Muuido Island at 245 meters above sea level, offers breathtaking views on clear days. From its summit, one can see Incheon Port and Incheon International Airport in the distance, as well as islands in the West Sea. The mountain is also home to intriguing and mysterious rock formations such as Horangbawi Rock, Bucheobawi Rock, and Madangbawi Rock. Additionally, a decked trail along the coastal road at the mountain's base provides a scenic walk with views of the coast.

Honinji Pond (혼인지)

Jejudo 39-22, Honinji-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Honinji Pond is connected to a myth of how agriculture and farming started on Jeju Island. Despite its small size, the pond is said to have been the location of the wedding between the Samsinin (three founding demi-gods) and three princesses of the East Kingdom. Next to the pond is Samseonghyeol, three caves that served as bridal homes. Honinji Pond and Samseonghyeol are great places to trace the origin of the founders of Jeju Island. In the summer, the area is in full bloom with red lotus flowers.

Icheon Doniul Myeongpum Rice Village (이천 도니울 명품쌀마을)

Gyeonggido 경기도 이천시 대월면 대월로667번길 359-3 Icheon Doniul (Dori-ri) Village in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, is a typical farm village located on a plain field between Wonducheon Stream and Yanghwacheon Village. Dori-ri Village is a prestigious village where the culture of the Samhan period is still passed down. The rice cultivation is part of the culture that has been passed down since the Samhan period. The name "Doniul" is derived from the nearby Sodonibong Peak. The word "doni" means a wide field with wetlands. The village is made up of approximately 100 households with 303 villagers. It is also known as a village of longevity as many of the residents are over 100 years old. The village is the producer of the famous Icheon rice for the king. The village is located approximately 12 kilometers from Icheon downtown, which can be reached in an hour from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal.

Hongwonhang Port (홍원항)

Chungcheongnamdo 130-3, Hongwon-gil, Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Hongwonhang Port, located near Chunjangdae Beach, is a popular place for enjoying sea fishing and delectable meals of fresh raw fish. In addition to its culinary appeal, the port offers the picturesque scene of long stretches of shoreline guarded by two beacons in red and white. Hongwonhang Port has many fishing boats thanks to its small tidal range, resulting in a lively atmosphere and cheap sashimi prices. Hongwonhang Port, along with Gwangyanghang Port in Jeollanam-do, is the prime spot for gizzard shad. Each autumn the port holds the Gizzard Shad Festival, a festival that has plenty of events & delectable fish dishes. While at the festival, visitors are also encouraged to check out the Seocheon Museum of Marine & Natural History and Dongbaekjeong. The stuffed specimens at the museum are worth the visit and the view of Maryang Port from atop the museum is unbelievable.

Icheon Ceramics Village (이천도예마을)

Gyeonggido 19, Gyeongchung-daero 3150beon-gil, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do Icheon Ceramics Village produces traditional Korean ceramics, which are of high quality. The village became the center of traditional pottery during the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) for about 500 years due to the easily obtainable materials in the areas. Icheon Ceramics Village was also the center of Joseon Baekja ceramics. Presently, about 80 pottery factories are congregated at the village, and about 300 pottery kilns are in use. Visitors can observe the pottery production process, and purchase them directly. It is worthwhile to see the crafts of these potters known as Living Cultural Treasures of Korea for creating the highest quality handicrafts. Not only are the traditional Cheongja, Baekja, and Buncheong pottery produced here, but you can also view modern design pottery. The Haegang Ceramics Art Center is the only ceramics Art Center in Korea, where you can learn about ceramics. One of the must-see events at Icheon Ceramics Village is the internationally famous “Icheon Ceramics Festival” held every year. Displayed pottery as well as, pottery classes, traditional kiln handling, pottery character show, and even parades are held.

Hongseong Seongyeonsa Temple (석련사(홍성))

Chungcheongnamdo 76 Guseongbuk-ro 160beon-gil, Guhang-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Seongnyeonsa Temple is located on the side of Baegwolsan Mountain, and is a branch temple of Sudeoksa Temple. The path to the temple is paved, making it easy to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. A bit further up the mountain from Daeungjeon Hall, visitors will be greeted by a large stone-carved Buddha that was made recently. The lack of moss and weathering makes it stand out from other rock-carved Buddha statues, while showing the unwavering faith of the local Buddhists.

Hongseong Jeongchungsa Shrine (정충사 (홍성))

Chungcheongnamdo 40-1 Pangyo 1-gil, Seobu-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Jeongchungsa Shrine is located in Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. It was first built in 1632, and was then rebuilt after a time of disrepair in 1872. The shrine was designated as a cultural heritage of Chungcheongnam-do on October 20, 2009.

Hyusimjeong (휴심정)

Gwangju 611-25 Imbangul-daero, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Hyusimjeong is a multicomplex complete with Second One, a bakery cafe; Oat, a restaurant offering fusion cuisine; a pop-up store zone; and a gallery; all surrounded by a large garden, creating the perfect location for rest. The garden appears to be in bloom all year round thanks to the advanced landscaping that mixes over 28 species of trees and 30 species of flowering grasses.

Hongseong Jeongamsa Temple (정암사 (홍성))

Chungcheongnamdo 652, Oseo-gil, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do Jeongamsa Temple is a small rural temple situated halfway up Oseosan Mountain. There are few existing records that mention the temple’s beginning. Some suggest that it was built around AD 527 during the 5th year of Baekje King Seongwang’s reign, but there is little evidence to support this theory. The only reference alluding to a specific time is Yeojidoseo ("Detailed Survey of Korean Geography" published during the late Joseon dynasty). It states Jeongamsa Temple's location as on Oseosan Mountain, and Oseosan Mountain being surrounded by Hongsan Mountain and Baegwolsan Mountain and intersected by Hongju, Gyeolseong, and Boryeong. This indicates the temple was recognized in the mid-18th century and around the same time, Garamgo (a book about temples, published in the late 18th century) also states that Jeongamsa Temple is located approximately 11 kilometers to the east of Gyeolseonghyeon. It is still uncertain whether the temple referred to is Jeongamsa Temple on Oseosan Mountain. Some foundation stones within the temple site measure 70-80 centimeters on each side. These stones indicate that the old Buddhist shrine of Jeongamsa Temple was laid out with five kan (Korean unit of measurement indicating the space between two pilars) at the front and three kan on the side. Future archaeological studies will help identify the true history of Jeongamsa Temple.
