Gariwangsan National Recreational Forest (국립 가리왕산자연휴양림)

Gangwondo 707, Gariwangsan-ro, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do Gariwangsan Mountain is one of the major mountains in the Taebaek Mountain Range. It is a home to numerous alpine tree species, as well as wildflowers and herbs. Its trails are popular thanks to the gentle slopes. Gariwangsan National Recreational Forest is located at the Hoedong-ri Village entrance. The recreational forest has various amenities, but the walking path next to the valley is by far the most outstanding. The thick forest blocks out the sky while purifying the air.

Garam Resort (가람리조트)

There are facilities including a large artificial turf field, an outdoor swimming pool, a barbecue area, and a water playground where guests can enjoy a variety of activities. In particular, the year-round sledding slope is the pride of the resort and the highlight of its activities. One can enjoy the cool breeze of Hongcheon while riding a tube sled down a 100-meter-long lane. Gapyeong Italian Village, Pinocchio and Da Vinci (피노키오와 다빈치)

The Italian scenes in the drama were actually filmed in Italy and at this location. The Italian village is delicately reproduced to the extent that it is difficult to tell if it is not known. The 10.8 m high statue of Pinocchio standing at the entrance is a photo point. If you go up to the observatory, you can see the back of the statue and the lake in the distance.

Gapyeong Baengnyeonsa Temple (백련사(가평))

Gyeonggido 159-50, Saemgol-gil, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do Baengnyeonsa Temple is surrounded by mountains, as it is located off Yongmunsan, Myeongjisan, and Daegeumsan Mountains. On each side of the temple, one can also find Unaksan Mountain as well as Cheonmasan Mountain. In addition, just behind the temple are Chungnyeongsan Mountain and Seorisan Mountain. This temple was built relatively recently, so the temple only has a few cultural treasures. However, as compared to the average temple in Korea, it is distinguished by its well-designed and refined architectures. The decorations in the temple are simple, with no overly vibrant colors nor complicated designs so as to help in seeking peace and inspiration. The temple is also known for its hiking trails and beautiful scenery offered by the surrounding mountains.

Gapsagyegok Valley (갑사계곡)

Chungcheongnamdo 519 Gapsa-ro, Gyeryong-myeon, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do Gapsagyegok Valley is a valley located on the northwest slope of Gyeryongsan Mountain in Gongju-si. With moderate temperatures even in summer, it is suitable as a recreational area, while the autumn foliage adds to its beauty. At the entrance lies Gapsa Temple, a Buddhist temple with various cultural assets, offering insights into Korean Buddhist culture. Within the valley, visitors can enjoy forest walks and view attractions such as the Yongmunpokpo Falls.

Gapsa Temple (갑사)

Chungcheongnamdo 567-3, Gapsa-ro, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do Gapsa Temple is located in the forested foothills of Gyeryongsan Mountain, 19 kilometers from Gongju and a three-hour walk from Donghaksa Temple. The temple is most beautiful during fall when surrounded by crimson foliage. Gapsa Temple was established by monk Adohwasang in 420, during the early Baekje Period. The temple's beauty allowed it to escape destruction many times, but it was ultimately burned down during the Imjin War (1592-1598). The current structures were built in 1604. Nearby attractions include Yongmunpokpo Falls, Sujeongbong Peak, and Cheonjinbotab Pagoda.

Gapgotdon Watchtower (갑곶돈대)

Incheon 18, Haeandong-ro 1366beon-gil, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon Gapgotdon Watchtower was built to protect the Ganghwa Straits from invasion when the Goryeo Kingdom moved their capital to Ganghwado Island. The fortified area served as a highly strategic location for the Goryeo Kingdom, and had endured multiple invasions by the Mongolian troops between 1232 and 1270. The watchtower was fortified in the Joseon dynasty by King Sukjong in 1679 and had once fallen during the French campaign against Korea in 1866. In 1977, the site was restored to its original form. The cannons exhibited at the current site were made during the Joseon dynasty to attack outside invaders from sea.

Gapado Island (가파도)

Jejudo Gapa-ro, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do Gapado Island is Jeju's fourth largest island, located off the southwestern coast. The island is said to look like a ray swimming in the waves, giving the island its name. A bicycle rental shop is located right at the harbor, allowing visitors to tour the entire island in 1-2 hours. The best time to visit Gapado Island is in April and May, when the barley is ripe. During this time, the island holds the annual Green Barley Festival, with plenty of fun events related to this local harvest.

Ganwolsan Recreation Forest (간월산 자연휴양림)

Ulsan 607-15 Deungeogalpeuseu-ro, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan Ganwolsan Recreation Forest is situated northeast of Ganwolsan Mountain, often referred to as the Alps of Korea. This picturesque recreational forest boasts dense pine forests, royal azaleas, maple trees, and pristine valleys. Accommodation facilities within the woods, a campfire site, thirty forest experience courses, a water playground, a forest park, and a sports field enhance the visitor experience. Following the hiking trails leads to observatory, and there are excellent walking paths for forest bathing. Nearby, the picturesque Jakcheonjeonggyegok Valley, famous for its cherry blossoms lane, awaits exploration.

Ganwolsan Mountain (간월산)

Ulsan 614, Ganwolsan-gil, Ulju-gun, Ulsan Ganwolsan Mountain is a popular destination for hikers in the Ulsan and Busan area as well as other regions of Gyeongsangnam-do. In early August, the reeds and lilies near the summit create a splendid view. To the west, the deep Naerijeong and Wangbonggol Valleys channel clean water to Baenaegol Pass. From the Ganwolgogae Pass, hikers can follow the Singal Path to Wanbonggol Pass towards Paraeso Falls. There, visitors will find a cave called Jungnimgul, which is sacred Catholic ground often visited by the Catholic faithful. The first church built by Catholics in the Yeongnam region to escape persecution is found in Buldanggol Pass in Ganwolsan Mountain area. The tomb of Kim Agatha who died in persecution is also in the Ganwolgol Valley.

Ganhyeon Tourist Area (간현관광지)

Gangwondo 12, Sogeumsan-gil, Jijeong-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do Ganhyeon Tourist Area, which is located 18 kilometers to the west of the city of Wonju, is seated where the Seomgang River and Samsancheon Stream, which are branches of the Namhangang River, come together and meet. 40- to 50-meter-high uniquely-shaped rocks and cliffs on both sides of the river form harmony with thickly wooded forests and the dark blue-colored river, and a vast white sandy beach stretches on the sides of the river to complete the fabulous scenery of the area. The river water is clean and the sandy beach is open and extensive, which makes it a popular summer vacation spot for those who like to play in the water. * Things to enjoy in Ganhyeon Tourist Area * Ganhyeon Rock located on the opposite side of the tourist area now has 37 rocky paths where people can enjoy rock climbing. Frequently changing flows and depths of the water potentially pose a great safety risk so visitors must be extremely careful when playing in the water. It should be noted that camping, cooking, campfires, fishing, etc., in or by the water are strictly prohibited. It takes approx. 1 hour 20 minutes for a round trip on Sogeumsan Suspension Bridge, which is located by the entrance of the mountain trail within the Ganhyeon Tourist Area, and the bridge boasts the greatest length and largest scale (100 meters high, 200 meters long, 1.5 meters wide) among all mountain walkway bridges in Korea. To provide visitors with an exhilarating experience, the floor of the bridge is made of specially manufactured steel grating, which enables those who walk over the bridge to enjoy the thrill.
