Seoul 15-32, Sajik-ro 9-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul Hwanghakjeong Pavilion was built in 1898 by decree of King Gojong’s. It was originally set up close to the northern wall of Hoesangjeon in Gyeonghuigung Palace for archery practice. In 1922 when the Japanese colonial government sold buildings of Gyeonghuigung Palace to the public to build Gyeongseong Middle School in the location, the Hwanghakjeong Pavilion was bought and restored at the current location, which is an old site of Deunggwajeong Pavilion located to the North of Sajik Park. It is relatively large for a pavilion, but the structure is plain and simple. There is a well behind the pavilion to the southwest. A rock behind the well has an engraved poem about eight beautiful scenes of Hwanghakjeong. Located to the right of the pavilion building (northeast of the building) is Hancheongak Pavilion, which has unique roof. To the west of the pavilion is Sauhoegwan Hall that was built with reinforced concrete.

Hwanggyepokpo Falls (황계폭포)

Gyeongsangnamdo 30 Hwanggye 2-gil, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do As a famous attraction that goes well with the charming surrounding scenery: the stream flowing from Gujangsan Mountain is beautiful and the surrounding rock cliffs spread out like a folding screen. In addition to the scenery, the sound of waterfall plunging down from a 20-meter-high cliff is like roaring thunder. The amount of water may vary, but it never runs out, making one forget the heat even in the middle of summer. The lowest tier of the waterfall pool is so deep, that legend has it that a dragon had once lived in the bottom of the pool. Ancient scholars were so fascinated by the beautiful scenery that they often compared it to the famous Yeosanpokpo Falls in China.

Hwang Nyong Won (황룡원)

Gyeongsangbukdo 40 Expo-ro, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do This unique architecture is a reinterpretation of the Hwangnyongsa nine-story pagoda format from the Silla period using modern science technology and architecture methods. The building has become a new landmark in Bomun Tourist Complex and is also used as a training institute that offers meditation programs. There are simple one-hour programs or overnight tour courses available through prior reservation.

Hwanbyeokdang Pavilion (환벽당)

Gwangju 10, Hwanbyeokdang-gil, Buk-gu, Gwangju Hwanbyeokdang Pavilion was built by Yeongcheonja Sinjam and was also called Byeokgandang, which is recorded in Go Gyeong-myeong's Yuseoseongnok. The building has a hipped-and-gabled roof with three bays in the front space and two bays in the inside space. It is a modified form in which the two rooms in the middle are used as rooms, and the front and right sides are floors. Originally, it was a traditional pavilion, but it seems to have changed to its current form as it was expanded later. A tablet written by Uam Song Si-yeol hangs here, and the poems of Seokcheon Im Eok-ryeong and Jo Ja-i are on a signboard. There are two poems written by Jeong Cheol about Hwanbyeokdang Pavilion, which are published in Songgangsokjip and Gwangjumokji. Jeong Cheol's 4th-generation descendant Jeong Su-hwan bought it from Kim Yun-je's descendants, and Yeon Il-jeong's family is currently managing it.

Herbnara Farm (허브나라농원)

Gangwondo 225 Heungjeonggyegok-gil, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do Herbnara Farm opened in 1996 as the first herb-themed farm in Korea. The farm was started in a deep valley in Pyeongchang by a couple whose age added up to 100 years. At that time, the farm was just a small plot of land, but has expanded to the current 33,000 ㎡ and is one of Pyeongchang's representative tourist attractions. The farm offers ten themed gardens with over 150 herbs such as lavender and sage. Delicious dishes and drinks made with herbs cultivated on the farm are available at the restaurant and cafe. Visitors can also make herbal soap and candles in the herb classroom, and enjoy cultural events throughout the farm.

Herb Village (허브빌리지)

Gyeonggido 37 ,Buksam-ro 20 beon-gil, Wangjing-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do The Herb Village in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do Province gives a splendid view of Imjingang River. This beautiful oasis is perfect for a relaxing day out of Seoul with the whole family. Colorful flowers, wooden benches, original statues, and a beautiful landscape decorate the whole space of the garden. One can just take a leisurely walk down the hill towards the river while stopping to smell the herbs every once in a while. If you need some refreshments, there are a couple of restaurants in the garden. If you want to stay overnight, there is beautiful guesthouse that offers comfortable accommodation. The village also has an herb jjimjilbang (Korean sauna) that creates a romantic ambience after sunset with candle lights, and foot baths that use different herbs can be found outside. The village is just a short drive from Seoul and one can enjoy a scenic view of the surroundings along the way.

Herb One (정읍 허브원)

Jeollabukdo 188-29 Guryang 1-gil, Jeongeup-si, Jeonbuk-do Herb One hosts a Lavender Festival every year during the lavender blooming period. It has over 300,000 Lavenders and 40,000 Lavandin, covering the area purple. There are also sunflowers and cosmos to please the eyes.

Herb Island Herb Healing Center (허브아일랜드 허브힐링센터)

Gyeonggido 35 Cheongsin-ro 947beon-gil, Sinbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do Located inside Herb Island (a tourist farm spanning 329,000 square meters), Herb Island Herb Healing Center is the largest herbal botanical garden, registered as a class 1 specialized museum (botanical garden) with a botanical garden and exhibition halls (110,000 square meters). Approx. 250 kinds of herbs and various other plants are planted inside the herbal plant museum so visitors can see beautiful green plants throughout the year. The herbal plant museum consists of a total of four exhibition spaces, three indoor and one outdoor. Each exhibition space is themed around certain herbs and plants, adding to the fun of touring the museum. It is used as a venue for ecological education for children and a space to enjoy 'healing' moments.

Herb Island (허브아일랜드)

Gyeonggido 35 Cheongsin-ro 947beon-gil, Sinbuk-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do Herb Island is an arboretum themed after the Mediterranean. From the Venice Village, inspired by Venice, to the Herb Plant Museum, one of the largest of its kind in Korea, outdoor garden, Herb Healing Center, and cafés and restaurants, it has a variety of amenities and facilities for visitors. It also hosts diverse events like the Lavender Festival and the Light Festival. Nearby tourist sites include Soyosan Mountain, Dongducheon Recreational Forest, and Pocheon Art Valley.

Heonhwa-ro Road (헌화로)

Gangwondo Simgok-ri, Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do Heonhwa-ro Road is a coastal road that offers beautiful natural scenery all year round. The road gets its name from a Korean myth about an old man picking azaleas from the edge of the coastal cliff at the request of Lady Suro, the wife of Gangneung Governor Sunjonggong.

Heolleung and Illeung Royal Tombs [UNESCO World Heritage] (서…

Seoul 36-10, Heonilleung-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul Heolleung and Illeung Royal Tombs house the mounds for two kings of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) and their wives: King Taejong (1401-1418) and Queen Wongyeong, along with King Sunjo (1800-1834) and Queen Sunwon. Together, the tombs are referred to as Heonilleung Royal Tomb. The site possesses numerous stone statues and vestiges, and is a good place to experience the culture of the Joseon dynasty.

Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park (허균·허난설헌 기념공원)

Gangwondo 1-29 Nanseolheon-ro 193beon-gil, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do 'Heo Gyun and Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park was established to honor the Heo siblings: Heo Gyun, the author of Story of Hong Gildong (a 17th-century novel, the first of its kind written in Hangeul), and Heo Nanseolheon, one of Korea's most esteemed female writers. This literary park features the Memorial Hall, the site of Heo Nanseolheon's birth home, a traditional tea experience space, and lush green areas. Every April and September, the Nanseolheon Cultural Festival offers puppet theater, exhibitions, children’s experience programs, and tea ceremony activities.

Hema Studio (헤마스튜디오)
